Responsibilities:
  • Motivates and inspires active participation in all three layers of GHC DECA.
  • Organizes, attends and insures attendance at all leadership meetings.
  • Prepares and submits regular GHC DECA announcements to Judy Keyser for upcoming events, competitions, and spring membership drives.
  • Expands contacts with other DECA chapters including implementation of a plan to network with international chapters at ICDC 2017.
  • Takes primary responsibility to plan Money Matters (GHC DECA Mini-Conference)
  • Monitors and motivates performance of all leadership members in meeting each of their assigned duties.
  • Develops and implements social media strategy for GHC DECA while maintaining strict adherence to GHCHS school policies.
  • Responsible for keeping DECA cabinets organized and readily accessible including the monitoring of jacket inventory.
  • Insures all photos present GHC DECA in a positive and appropriate manner including official and unofficial postings in social media.
  • Works with newly selected 2017-8 leadership team to plan spring recruitment.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead Membership Campaign recruitment of professional and alumni members.
  • Expectation is 30+ professional members, an absolute minimum of 20 are required to achieve Thrive level in the Membership Campaign and Gold Chapter Award.
  • Collaborate with Marilyn Koziatek to mine professional member leads.
  • Assembles and submits membership rosters to national DECA organization.
  • Assembles and submits required entry submissions to CA DECA for SCDC 2017, and monitors team members’ payment of registration/hotel reimbursement.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead Global Entrepreneurship Week Campaign committee to achieve Thrive Level.
  • Inputs all four campaign submissions into DECA website before December 1 deadline, outline of submission for all four campaigns is due September 15.
  • Maintains master calendar, disseminated as a large poster size display in room B2 and digital copies made available on school web site and social media.
  • Works with historians to assemble handouts, pictures and other materials required for Chapter Campaign submissions.
  • Insures all photos present GHC DECA in a positive and appropriate manner including official and unofficial postings in social media.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead Promotional Campaign committee to achieve Thrive Level.
  • Works with secretaries to gather large volumes of photos for all GHC DECA competitions, social activities and chapter campaigns, two digital files are submitted to Mr. Nelson for each event (one with all photos/videos, and one with 50 best).
  • Gathers hard copies and digital copies of all materials created to support, promote and implement GHC DECA events, then coordinates with and supports secretaries inputting of chapter campaigns into DECA website by December 1 deadline.

Community Service Campaign Chairs
(Holiday Letter Campaign)

Responsibilities:
  • Meet Holiday Letter Campaign goal of 5,000 letters established for GHCHS campus.
  • Collaborate with Make-A-Wish Foundation staff to develop a plan for expanding the campaign to other CA DECA chapters.
  • Creates fun, team building social activities for DECA leadership and team at large that raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
  • Documents Holiday Letter Campaign activities for submission to DECA website as a Community Service Campaign, and integrate experience into DECA written event.

Middle School Outreach Coordinators
(Money Matters, Articulation Night)

Responsibilities:
  • Work with presidents to plan and implement Money Matters.
  • Recruit middle school students to attend Money Matters, performance review will be measured by the number of students who attend from their assigned feeder school.
  • Collaborate with Marilyn Koziatek to identify contacts with assigned middle school.
  • Develop fun and engaging fall events for middle school campuses including Stock Market Game workshops, report plan to presidents and advisors by August 15.
  • Develop newsletter informing middle school students and their parents on the Future of Employment in America, disseminated via email/social media.
  • Coordinate Articulation Night information tables and plan activities to promote GHC DECA, gather names of 8th graders interested in joining DECA as freshmen in the fall.
  • Follow-up with periodic middle school student contacts throughout the spring semester including emailing middle school students links to videos of past competitions and chapter activities.
  • Success makes major contribution to achieve Thrive Level in Promotional Campaign.
